Here\u2019s what to expect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">With the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1\/text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1\/text\">One Big Beautiful Bill Act<\/a> (OBBBA) being signed into law last month, Florida is slated to see plenty of individual and business tax cuts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">That\u2019s according to <a href=\"https:\/\/taxfoundation.org\/data\/all\/federal\/obbba-average-tax-cuts-impact-map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/taxfoundation.org\/data\/all\/federal\/obbba-average-tax-cuts-impact-map\/\">The Tax Foundation<\/a>, which put together a study this month detailing what Florida residents can expect during the upcoming 2026 tax season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The study predicts that the OBBBA will bring down federal taxes on average for individual taxpayers in every state, largely thanks to features like new deductions for tipped\/overtime income, as well as an expanded child tax credit and standard deduction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cSpecific tax changes also exhibit geographic variation,\u201d the study reads. \u201cFor example, the $40,000 cap on state and local tax (SALT) deductions ($10,000 cap post-2029) will tend to have the greatest impact on taxpayers in higher-tax localities on the coasts of the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Overall, the average tax cut statewide in 2026 is estimated to be around $5,000, researchers posited.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">[BELOW: Florida homeowners fight rising lot rents as park owners avoid mediation]<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">That figure is set to fall to roughly $3,200 by 2030 as certain individual changes like deductions for tips and overtime expire, though it\u2019s set to rise back up to around $4,000 by 2035 as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/money\/2024\/11\/12\/inflation-is-still-on-the-rise-and-its-impacting-your-savings-heres-how\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/money\/2024\/11\/12\/inflation-is-still-on-the-rise-and-its-impacting-your-savings-heres-how\/\">inflation bloats the nominal value<\/a> of the permanent tax cuts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">However, the average tax cuts for 2026 will vary by county, The Tax Foundation notes.
