LAS VEGAS \u2014 It\u2019s been the question for a while with Jalen Brunson, the conundrum of his physical limitations and whether, for the first time since Detroit\u2019s Isiah Thomas, a player 6-foot-1 or smaller can be the top superstar on a championship squad.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s presumably a long time remaining in Brunson\u2019s career in New York, a long time to make runs at the franchise\u2019s first NBA championship since Richard M. Nixon was president. The Knicks have doubled- and tripled-down on Brunson at the top of the totem pole, with little expectation they\u2019ll complete a trade for somebody to supplant him like Giannis Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n
