ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 The cold front we\u2019ve been tracking last few days very quickly swept through our area tonight. Winds are now coming in from the north, and you can feel the nip in the air trying to bite whenever you set foot outdoors this evening. <\/p>\n
The cold front continues accelerating off towards our southeast, draping cooler temps across our area tonight (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
Tomorrow morning that same nip is going to be pretty frigid for some, especially in our northwestern counties where feel\u2019s like temps could drop into the mid to upper twenties. <\/p>\n
For the large majority of us, however, despite the winds we\u2019ll still be in the upper 40s to low 50s. This is especially true closer to the Orlando metro area, attractions, and further Southeast you go. <\/p>\n
Alachua and Marion counties may be feeling like the movie frozen tomorrow morning when you combine overnight lows and the roaring winds we’re tracking as the cold front moves south (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll still want to throw on an extra layer or two though, just to be on the safe side as winds could be gusting anywhere between 15-25 mph in some spots. Buildings and other urban structures will help to funnel these winds and colder temps, so be prepared as you start your Monday morning. <\/p>\n
By Tuesday, the polar air having sunk its way through Florida will be directly overhead albeit quickly trying to vacate the premises. <\/p>\n
As the front picks up speed, our winds will do the same already gusting out of the north anywhere from 20 to even 30 mph in some spots (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
Morning low\u2019s will be once again be anywhere in the ballpark of lower 40s for Alachua, Marion, and upper Lake and Sumter counties. If you were to cut Central Florida in half diagonally around the I-4 corridor, our coldest and most brutal morning low\u2019s will be found on the northwest side. <\/p>\n
As the cold air slides south, we can expect a windy next few days (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
While we won\u2019t be pleasant, we certainly won\u2019t be anywhere near the freezing point in the four corners counties or up the Atlantic coast from Brevard through to Flagler county. <\/p>\n
Then moving into Wednesday, Florida is back in business. Temperatures are likely to swing back upwards with high\u2019s back in the low 70\u2019s across the board making for rather pleasant conditions during the day from Wednesday to Friday. <\/p>\n
From here, the warmth looks to stick around. Stubborn warmth at that. <\/p>\n
A dominant ridge is still expected to build overhead driving our temps into those above average values (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
Computer models show the development of a fairly strong and dominant subtropical ridge which will drive our temperatures up into above average territory. We could still see these warm days through the calendar start of winter and Christmas.<\/p>\n
As the ridge remains in control we\u2019re going to see temperatures stay on the higher side, with the staple Florida humidity in play alongside it. <\/p>\n
Looking across the next ten days, we’ll stay in above average territory starting Wednesday and on (Copyright WKMG 2025)<\/p>\n
To combine with these warmer than average afternoon temps, rain will be scarce. In all honesty, I can\u2019t really pinpoint any significant weather players to change things up for all of us over the next 10-14 days. Warm, mild, and humid are likely to remain the weather buzz words for the Central Florida area as we move through the second half of December. <\/p>\n
If things continue on this current trend, we may even wrap up 2025 altogether on a warm note. <\/p>\n
