When you heard the Fort Myers Beach VFW needed help, it only took you 12 days to accomplish the mission; raise $25,000 in order to receive another $25,000 to match the money raised. Today we went over that mountain.<\/p>\n

If $50,000 was not raised, the 86-year old Fort Myers Beach VFW was looking at closing its doors. The recent hurricanes stacked up repair bills that were hard to stay in front of and with a slow season, things looked bleak. We reached out, asked how we could help, then launched a fundraiser with a big bucket of prize donations local businesses were more than happy to contribte to. Then, we received a call from a Fort Myers Beach resident who said he would match what we raised up to $25,000.<\/p>\n

You all came through with flying colors. The support for our hero veterans is off the charts. We went over the $25,000 today and we still have 3 days to go.<\/p>\n

Our October 19th Mayor\u2019s show will be held at the VFW at 10AM.<\/p>\n

Everyone is invited to attend and bring a cash donation on that day as well. Food will be available for purchase from The RUDE Shrimp CO. with proceeds donated back to the VFW and we\u2019ll be interviewing veterans all morning long.<\/p>\n
