Jurors found Ian Lanning guilty of first-degree murder and the judge sentenced him to life in prison. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  \u2014 A Pompano Beach man was convicted Tuesday of murdering his wife. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Jurors found Ian Lanning guilty of first-degree murder and a Broward County judge sentenced him to life in prison.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Lanning\u2019s wife, 53-year-old Irene Xeniti, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2022\/06\/12\/pompano-beach-husband-charged-with-murder-following-wifes-disappearance\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2022\/06\/12\/pompano-beach-husband-charged-with-murder-following-wifes-disappearance\/\">reported missing in 2022. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Her remains have never been found, but Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies said evidence showed Xeniti was murdered inside her home and her body had been moved somewhere else.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In 2022, Local 10 News spoke with several neighbors off-camera who said the couple was quiet, and they were stunned by Xeniti\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cHe had let us know his ex-wife had been missing for like a month and the last time he saw her was two weeks ago and she had packed up and left,\u201d one neighbor told Local 10 in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/politics\/2022\/05\/30\/deputies-search-for-53-year-old-woman-who-vanished-from-fort-lauderdale\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xeniti\u2019s daughter reported her mother missing<\/a> on May 30, 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Two weeks prior, deputies visited the home Xeniti shared with her husband in Pompano Beach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Detectives said Lanning told them he had an argument with his wife, and she left their home on May 14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">But detectives found through cellphone evidence that the couple had been traveling in the area on May 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Detectives were given a search warrant for the home and Lanning\u2019s car.
