DORAL, Fla. \u2014 Doral police arrested a 26-year-old woman on two felony charges on Thursday in connection with an Oct. 9 road rage incident.<\/p>\n
According to police, it started in the area of Northwest 33rd Street and 107th Avenue after a driver honked at a woman, later identified as Lloydra Turner, after she cut him off in a Penske rental truck.<\/p>\n
Police said that led to a verbal dispute in which Turner, of northwest Miami-Dade, \u201cbrandished a tan-colored handgun and pointed it in his direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities said the man began recording the interaction and in the video, Turner \u201ccan be heard using profanities and throwing a bottle at the driver\u2019s door where (the victim) was seated.\u201d<\/p>\n
An arrest report states that Turner then \u201cexited the Penske truck, approached his driver-side window, reached inside the (victim\u2019s) vehicle and poked him in his right eye\u201d and then fled.<\/p>\n
Authorities said police were able to identify Turner after processing a still frame from the man\u2019s video through facial recognition software. They said he picked her out of a photo lineup.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s her,\u201d the report states he said after seeing Turner\u2019s picture.<\/p>\n
Police said they saw the Penske truck in the area of Northwest 72nd Avenue and 25th Street on Thursday, saw Turner driving, then pulled her over.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce detained, (Turner) stated that she needed her personal belongings from inside the truck,\u201d the report states. \u201cWith consent, the defendant allowed this detective to retrieve her belongings, which included a firearm.\u201d<\/p>\n
That gun matched the victim\u2019s description, police said.<\/p>\n
Authorities said Turner made several confessions at Doral police headquarters. Those were redacted from the report.<\/p>\n
Police arrested her on charges of burglary with assault or battery and aggravated assault with a firearm and Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer found probable cause to charge her Friday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou better be calm driving,\u201d Glazer warned Turner in court. \u201cBecause if you get arrested for anything else, you will be locked up in jail until your trial.\u201d<\/p>\n
She later added that burglary with assault or battery \u201cis a crime punishable by life in prison if the state wants to pursue that.\u201d <\/p>\n
As of Friday afternoon, she was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond.<\/p>\n
