Florida\u2019s winter months are not marked by blustery snowstorms and parka-wearing shoppers, but by days that are warm, merry and bright. The mild temperatures are also conducive to spending hours outside hauling out countless boxes of decorations and holiday lights, ensuring that December nights are also blindingly bright.<\/p>\n
For our eighth annual Twinkly Awards, we\u2019re honoring the aspiring Clark Griswolds of Central Florida, who dedicate their talents and efforts to gathering the neighbors, to giving spectators a free show and to the cause of spreading holiday cheer. The persistence and dedication of Central Florida\u2019s holiday heroes are on full display this Christmas season with physical manifestations of selfless generosity that glow in the dark.<\/p>\n
Some lights provide a synchronized spectacle with bulbs that blink to the beat of the music, while others twinkle slowly with thousands of strands in every corner of the house and yard. A few homes even have simulated snowfall or yuletide twists to surprise and delight visitors.<\/p>\n
In no particular order, here are 30 of Central Florida\u2019s best home holiday displays.<\/p>\n

After 17 years of holiday tradition, the Fye\u2019s Crazy Christmas House is marking its last season of inspiring illumination in Casselberry. The story begins in 2008 when the family walked into Lowe\u2019s and purchased a Christmas-themed inflatable pirate ship. Since then, the Fyes have watched families grow and couples \u201cgo from dating, to engaged, to married, to bringing their first child.\u201d<\/p>\n
The family has handed out an estimated 50,000 candy canes while welcoming visitors from all around the world, an estimated 3,000 annually. It\u2019s a labor of love to put up 60,000 lights, 24 arches, a life-size sleigh, reindeer, a Nativity scene and a North Pole village. But as the house\u2019s mama elf says, \u201cA story always has a beginning and an end.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Fye family plans to call it after this year\u2019s holiday season. \u201cWhile we love the display, we have gotten older, and tired, and unfortunately, we must call this year, this magical Christmas season of 2025, our end,\u201d their Facebook post reads. \u201cWe can\u2019t thank you all enough for all of your love and support for all these years. Thank you for being apart of the last 17 magical, joyous chapters!\u201d<\/p>\n

The spectacle has expanded this year to include light-up angel wings and other new illuminated elements that pulse to music, including tracks from Disney princess movies. The over-the-top display of holiday cheer shines like a beacon in the night, ensuring there\u2019s no way Santa could possibly miss it. Around the yard, there are cheerful characters including the Abominable Snowman, Ralphie in a pink bunny suit, Minions, angels and a Santa sleigh in lights with reindeer gliding through the trees. It\u2019s quite a sight to behold.<\/p>\n Address:\u00a04320 Meadowood St. in Orlando<\/p>\n George Case, 88, has been putting out his lovingly handmade wooden Christmas decorations for years, still finding the time and energy to adorn his front yard with adorable characters each year. This includes carolers, penguins, Santa\u2019s sleigh, reindeer, a Nativity scene and a gingerbread village. Many of these were painted by Case\u2019s late wife, Beatrice, to whom he dedicates this display.<\/p>\n Address:\u00a01901 Mosher Drive in Orlando<\/p>\n O Flashing Brights<\/p>\n With an archway of lights over the driveway and strands covering the roof, the Winter Park Lights on Waunaqua showcases a smart use of space and a well-programmed light show set to music. Around the bend, visit the rest of the houses in Neely Nights, showing the neighbors that pitch in with their own home holiday lights on Neely Street.<\/p>\n Address:\u00a01003 McKinnon Ave. in Oviedo<\/p>\n Voltage Virtuoso<\/p>\n Kilowatt Christmas brings a clean and colorful, choreographed display that trims the house and front lawn. See LED bulbs flashing in time to music, including Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Lindsey Stirling and a \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d compilation. Visitors can take advantage of a photo op with a handmade Santa\u2019s sleigh and reindeer for photo ops or see a Christmas village and train set in the garage, which is the main focal point and standout feature of this holiday house.<\/p>\n Address:\u00a020404\u00a0Marlin\u00a0St. in\u00a0Orlando<\/p>\n Swingin\u2019 Spectacle<\/p>\n 2025 represents the 14th season that Lake Nona Lights is \u201cflashing the neighborhood.\u201d For all those years, Randy Tennison and Todd O\u2019Neal have collaborated on a dancing display of musical merriment in Lake Nona. The hard work shines brightly with 25,000 lights dancing to music each holiday season. According to the Lake Nona Lights website, every 10 seconds of music takes about 2.5 hours to program. Guests can see a 45-minute show with 50,000 LED pixels dancing to 16 songs. This year, the Goelz family has added a pixel tunnel and lights along the side of the house in addition to the existing pixel trees, arches, snowflakes and more. That\u2019s the name of one Simple Plan song that the lights dance to, one of 30 tunes that make up the playlist for this dancing display, which can be selected by guests\u2019 phones. It\u2019s a labor of love for Eric Corriea, who estimates he spends 40-60 hours sequencing a single song. During Dean Martin\u2019s \u201cLet It Snow! Let It Snow! The annual light show features music from past and present Disney light shows and parades with 50,000 traditional lights, 12,000 pixel lights and two moving spotlights illuminating in sync.
