{"id":89395,"date":"2025-12-19T15:29:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/89395\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T15:29:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:29:07","slug":"florida-transfer-michai-boireau-projects-as-georgia-football-target","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/89395\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida transfer Michai Boireau projects as Georgia football target"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dec. 19, 2025, 9:57 a.m. ET<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">If there <a href=\"\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Georgia Bulldogs<\/a> are looking for big bodied defensive lineman in the transfer portal, then <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/ncaaf\/teams\/georgia-bulldogs\/3473\/\" data-autotag=\"3248d159-97eb-4f61-bd09-3a6f38114d58\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Georgia<\/a> could look to reignite their previous <a href=\"http:\/\/ugawire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/bulldogs\/recruiting\/2023\/09\/17\/former-florida-commit-projected-flip-uga-football-michai-boireau\/79006848007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recruiting relationship<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/gatorswire.usatoday.com\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Gators<\/a> defensive lineman Michai Boireau. The 6-foot-5, 350-pound defensive lineman is expected to be one of the biggest players in the transfer portal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Boireau <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MichaiBoireau58\/status\/2001776843989323949?s=20\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow\">intends to transfer<\/a> and will have two seasons of eligibility left. The massive defensive tackle was a starter for <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/ncaaf\/teams\/florida-gators\/3472\/\" data-autotag=\"5f17983d-3ab8-4b35-9954-23714ad248dd\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Florida<\/a> in 2025. He posted 20 tackles, two sacks and a game-sealing interception (vs. Mississippi State) this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">There are a few reasons why Boireau could consider Georgia. The Bulldogs nearly landed his commitment when he was a member of the class of 2024 and Georgia rarely burns a bridge, so he could commit to the Gators&#8217; top rival. He played high school football for Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia, so he could look to stay home.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:440px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/87843406007-2244520273.jpg\" data-gl- decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Michai Boireau of the Florida Gators celebrates after a play against the Georgia Bulldogs\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Boireau is a former three-star recruit, but he did not play like it at Florida. As a true freshman (2024 season), Boireau appeared in 12 games and played 144 snaps. He also was named to the SEC academic honor role during the fall of 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Georgia will be far from the only team interested in Boireau.
