The Lee County Port Authority would like to remind you about the following information for traveling out of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)<\/a> this holiday:<\/p>\n

Arrive early. A busy Christmas and New Year\u2019s holiday at RSW is expected and LCPA wants travelers to plan ahead. Please be in line at your security checkpoint at least two hours prior to your flight departure for a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.<\/p>\n

Parking lots at RSW may fill up quickly between Dec. 20 and Jan. 3. Please give yourself extra time to find parking and consider alternative ways to get to RSW, such as being dropped off by friends or family or using commercial transportation. If necessary, parking updates will be posted on the airport\u2019s website<\/a> and Facebook<\/a> to keep travelers informed on airport parking availability.<\/p>\n

RSWRemote<\/a> will be available this holiday, offering passengers a remote and reserved parking option. It is located at 11861 Regional Lane, in Fort Myers<\/a>, on the north side of the airport property in the Skyplex area. The RSWRemote parking lot will open for entries on Sunday, Dec. 21 and will close on Sunday, Dec. 28. The cost will be a flat $60 fee, no matter how many days you choose to park, is non-refundable and cannot be used at any other airport parking location. RSW recommends adding 30 minutes to your travel time to use this remote parking option.<\/p>\n

Local roads are extremely busy during the holidays, so allow extra time to get to the airport. To avoid congestion, use the I-75 Direct Connect to get to and from RSW.<\/p>\n

If there is inclement weather forecasted at destination or connecting airports, travelers should check with their air carrier to see if there are any changes to their flight schedules.<\/p>\n

Visit the Transportation Security Administration\u2019s website at tsa.gov<\/a> for tips about what you can and cannot bring through the security checkpoint.<\/p>\n
