{"id":91056,"date":"2025-12-21T01:25:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T01:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/91056\/"},"modified":"2025-12-21T01:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T01:25:07","slug":"keionte-scott-leads-miami-to-cfp-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/91056\/","title":{"rendered":"Keionte Scott leads Miami to CFP win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dec. 20, 2025, 7:59 p.m. ET<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The most dramatic College Football Playoff opening round game went the way of the Miami Hurricanes thanks to the efforts of one former <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/ncaaf\/teams\/auburn-tigers\/3480\/\" data-autotag=\"c21b4b23-e879-47f2-9a3e-abc30ff7e51d\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Auburn<\/a> Tiger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Keionte Scott, a former defensive back for Auburn from 2022-24, played a major role in <a href=\"http:\/\/auburnwire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/aggies\/football\/2025\/12\/20\/texas-aggies-football-miami-cfp-live-updates\/87838325007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami&#8217;s 10-3 win over Texas A&amp;M at Kyle Field on Saturday<\/a> by leading the Hurricanes in tackles. His 10 tackle, 3 TFL effort was a factor in Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s absence from the end zone on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Saturday&#8217;s CFP first round game was the first for Scott since Nov. 15 after suffering an injury in the Hurricane&#8217;s win over NC State. Initally, it appeared the injury was significant enough to end his season. However, <a href=\"http:\/\/auburnwire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/hurricanes\/2025\/12\/20\/keionte-scott-injury-update-college-football-playoff\/87852287007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he was removed from the injury report prior to Saturday&#8217;s game<\/a>, where he was able to make a giant impact for his new squad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Scott had logged 10-plus tackles once this season before Saturday, when he made 11 stops in Miami&#8217;s win over <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/ncaaf\/teams\/florida-state-seminoles\/3409\/\" data-autotag=\"06ee9050-e06d-4638-a179-a4d7f17000df\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Florida State<\/a> in October. He is now up to 44 tackles, which tied his 2023 season total at Auburn. His best season came in 2022 when he recorded 53 total tackles.
