The events have intensified the rivalry ahead of next year’s game between the two teams.<\/p>\n
There is plenty of bad blood<\/a> between part-time ACC mates Notre Dame and Miami, and on Saturday afternoon, more fuel was added to the fire by the Hurricanes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Miami beat Texas A&M<\/a> in the Irish Loss Bowl aka the first round of the College Football Playoff, and it wasn\u2019t a pretty outcome as the two teams combined to score just 13 total points. The Hurricanes came out victorious and following the game took some parting shots at the Irish.<\/p>\n First it was head coach Mario Cristobal, as he said in his postgame interview<\/a> that we should \u201cnever ever devalue the meaning of head to head,\u201d as he complimented the committee for putting his team in over Notre Dame. He didn\u2019t directly mention the Irish, but insinuated as much.<\/p>\n Then it was offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa asking Jeremiyah Love if he was mad about the result as shared by a Miami fan\u2019s social media account<\/a>. The unanimous All-American<\/a> and Doak Walker Award winner<\/a> most likely is still a bit salty about the CFP snub, but there were a number to teams, not just Miami, that the Irish could make an argument that they should have been in over. It\u2019s not like Miami made anyone think they were that much better of a team than Notre Dame.<\/p>\n It looks like next year\u2019s game in South Bend is going to be a good one, as the rivalry between both of these teams hasn\u2019t lost any love.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
