ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Millions are expected to protest the Trump administration this weekend in what is being called No Kings Day.<\/p>\n
In Central Florida, at least 18 No Kings rallies are expected from Palm Coast to Poinciana, and of course, in Orlando. They\u2019re among 2,500 expected protests nationwide.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the second No Kings protest in the country. The first national day of protest happened in June<\/a>. The rallies were largely peaceful. Three were arrested at the protest in Ocala<\/a>, accused of making physical contact with protesters.<\/p>\n [WATCH: June No Kings rally in downtown Orlando]<\/p>\n People say they are protesting recent actions by the Trump administration, from the handling of immigration to efforts to increase the power of the executive office to concerns about the rising cost of living.<\/p>\n The rallies also come as protests and frustration grow over the federal law enforcement presence in Portland, Oregon and Chicago. Efforts to deploy troops to the two cities have stalled in federal court.<\/p>\n [WATCH: Hundreds protest against Donald Trump in Casselberry (from June)]<\/p>\n The Trump administration and several conservative politicians have attacked the rallies and Trump\u2019s critics in general this week.<\/p>\n House Speaker Mike Johnson dubbed the event the \u201cHate America rally\u201d at a news conference on Wednesday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe call it the \u2018hate America\u2019 rally that will happen Saturday. Let\u2019s see who shows up for that,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cI bet you you\u2019ll see Hamas supporters, I bet you\u2019ll see Antifa types, I bet you\u2019ll see the Marxists on full display, the people who don\u2019t want to stand and defend the foundational truths of this republic.\u201d<\/p>\n On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attacked the base of the Democratic Party on Fox News.<\/p>\n \u201cThey don\u2019t stand for anything except for catering to their far-left base, which as I said, includes antisemites, includes Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals who they want to let off freely to roam in American streets,\u201d Leavitt said.<\/p>\n No Kings rally organizers in Orlando say safety trainings have taken place ahead of the rally, with information on individual rights, whether to wear a mask, and de-escalation techniques. <\/p>\n There are contingency plans in case there is an emergency.<\/p>\n News 6 also spoke to the Orlando Police Department, which issued the following statement:<\/p>\n \u201cHello. The safety and security of everyone remains the Orlando Police Department\u2019s top priority. While we don\u2019t discuss specific security measures, we always plan and staff large-scale events appropriately to provide proper public safety and assess the needs of the event to make any necessary security modifications.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Orlando Police Department wants to remind our community to always call 9-1-1 or flag down an officer working the event if they see anything suspicious. Whether security measures are visible or not, officers are always working on the streets and behind the scenes to ensure the safety of our city.\u201d<\/p>\n
