TAMPA \u2014 A 19-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured after departing an Interstate 275 exit ramp at high speed and colliding with a pickup truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. Oct. 14 on the exit ramp from I-275 to Bearss Avenue, troopers said.<\/p>\n
A Yamaha R6 motorcycle driven by an Inverness man was traveling south on the exit ramp, according to the Highway Patrol. A Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer and driven by a 41-year-old Tampa man was traveling west on Bearss Avenue, troopers said.<\/p>\n
Traveling at high speed, the motorcyclist departed the ramp, struck a concrete traffic island, entered Bearss Avenue and collided with the Silverado, according to the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and suffered serious injuries, troopers said.
