JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The excitement of the Jacksonville Jaguars\u2019 strong season is translating into a significant business boom for Sports Mania in Jacksonville Beach. <\/p>\n
Fan enthusiasm has tripled their sales compared to last year, a level of excitement managers haven\u2019t seen in years, said the owner of Sports Mania. <\/p>\n
Several shoppers went out on Sunday, shopping to show support for the Jags. <\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBecause the Jags are so good,\u201d explained shopper Hudson Wilson when asked why he was in the store today. <\/p>\n His father, Blake Wilson, added, \u201cCertainly, when they\u2019re doing really well, it\u2019s always fun to just pour more into it.\u201d As he\u2019s happy to pass on fandom to the next generation. <\/p>\n Fans like Justin Vega are finding it hard to resist buying new gear as the team keeps winning. <\/p>\n \u201cTrying to stay responsible and not load up on gear, but it\u2019s hard not to when they keep winning games,\u201d Vega said. <\/p>\n \u201cThe ads just seem to keep popping up for stuff, and I\u2019m, unfortunately, weak when it comes to that stuff,\u201d said Vega. <\/p>\n This fan excitement is boosting business for Sports Mania, with owner Matthew Smith confirming the dramatic uptick in sales. <\/p>\n \u201cI would say compared to last year, it\u2019s tripled,\u201d Smith stated. <\/p>\n \u201cOverall, as a three, four-year comparison, we\u2019re up over 75%,\u201d said Smith. <\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/a>]<\/p>\n In anticipation of continued success, Smith says they are \u201cgambling\u201d on the Jags making a deep run. The store is loading up on inventory, with $150,000 worth of new merchandise expected within the next two weeks. They have even pre-ordered AFC South Division Champion products just in case the Jaguars remain atop the division. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re coming out of the woodwork,\u201d Smith said of the growing customer base. \u201dThere\u2019s so many also new fans, but also fans that kind of gave up over the years with the losing, that they said, you know, if they get this win, I\u2019m back in.
