PINELLAS COUNTY, FL \u2014 An SUV driver was killed in a Saturday night crash with a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus that ran a red light on Roosevelt Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The PSTA bus was heading west on the highway around 8:40 p.m. when the driver, a 38-year-old Pinellas Park man, stopped at the red light at the Lake Carillon Drive intersection. <\/p>\n
Despite the red light, he turned left at the intersection anyway, into the path of a Nissan Armada, driven by a 57-year-old Clearwater man, FHP said. <\/p>\n
The SUV, which was heading east on Roosevelt Boulevard, crashed into the bus. <\/p>\n
The bus driver, who wasn\u2019t wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle. <\/p>\n
Both drivers were brought to an area hospital with injuries, FHP said. <\/p>\n
The SUV\u2019s passenger, a 57-year-old Clearwater woman, also suffered serious injuries, the agency said.
