An oceanfront house on Florida\u2019s Amelia Island has sold for $10.5 million, marking the island\u2019s highest-priced home sale of the year with only two weeks left.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The three-story beach house was built in 2021 for Michael E. Dubyak, the former chairman of Maine\u2019s WEX Inc., who bought the half-acre property in 2019 for $2.6 million, according to records on PropertyShark. He sold it to Anthony Cecchini, principal and CEO of Illinois-based JMG Financial Group, last week, according to records.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cecchini was drawn to the fact that the home is relatively new, said James Miller of ONE Sotheby\u2019s International Realty, who represented both Dubyak and Cecchini in the transaction along with his colleague David Miller.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are very few undeveloped oceanfront parcels on the island, so finding new construction on the ocean is rare,\u201d James Miller said. Additionally, most of the community\u2019s homes are dated and in need of extensive work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The home, located on the south end of the island in the city of Fernandina Beach, has more than 6,500 square feet of living space across its three levels, which can all be accessed by elevator. The main living level is on the second story, where there\u2019s an open floor plan that \u201cshowcases most of the daily entertaining space on one floor,\u201d Miller said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The second floor\u2019s kitchen, living and dining areas lead out to the Ipe wood deck, which has a heated saltwater pool and hot tub and was raised to the second level of the home to \u201cmaximize views,\u201d according to the listing. A spiral staircase leads from the deck up to the balcony that lines the entire ocean-facing side of the top floor.<\/p>\n

There are four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, including two primary suites that both have ocean views. On the third floor, there\u2019s a den and a kitchenette, making it the ideal guest space.<\/p>\n

In addition to a bedroom suite, the first floor houses a gym and a game room. A paved walkway from the three-car garage leads to the home\u2019s private boardwalk, giving the owners direct beach access without any stairs. There\u2019s a shower for rinsing off at the top of the boardwalk as well as an enclosed outdoor shower on the deck.<\/p>\n
