You might\u2019ve already racked up a bill shopping for holiday gifts<\/a> this month, but another hit is coming to your credit card statement. You\u2019ve got friends back in town to visit family, and they\u2019re going to want to hang out. Sounds great, right?<\/p>\n

Well, sort of. As New Times reported last week, a recent analysis ranked Miami the most expensive place to have friends<\/a> in the country, with the cost of social activities outweighing locals\u2019 average disposable income. Online casino JB<\/a>, which conducted the survey, called the deficit the \u201cfriendship affordability ratio.\u201d Miami\u2019s was 117 percent, with the next city on the list, New York, coming in second with an 86 percent ratio. We shared the report with our readers, and they had thoughts.<\/p>\n

Others reminisced about affordable watering holes \u2014 some defunct<\/a>, some still standing \u2014 all part of a growing list that will get longer once Gramps closes next month<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Go to Churchill\u2019s and get a few beers instead.<\/p>\n

Still, others suggested bringing back an age-old Miami tradition: the ghetty<\/a>.<\/p>\n
