TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An ordinary school day turned into an unforgettable celebration for one Big Bend teacher.<\/p>\n
WCTV, along with Addition Financial, surprised Alexis Carswell, a kindergarten teacher at Gilchrist Elementary, as the station wrapped up the year by honoring its December Teacher of the Month.<\/p>\n
From the moment the WCTV team walked into the classroom, the excitement was impossible to miss. <\/p>\n
Smiles filled the room, energy was high, and the holiday spirit was in full swing. <\/p>\n
Carswell fully embraced the festive fun, dressed head-to-toe in Grinch attire while continuing to inspire her students.<\/p>\n
Known for bringing creativity, dedication, and heart into her classroom, Carswell works daily to make learning both meaningful and joyful for her young students.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery day is different. They are so fun, and they are so crazy, and I really do pour my heart into it,\u201d Carswell said. \u201cWe all do, and we spend a lot of money and a lot of time, so it\u2019s just nice to get some recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carswell said her goal is simple: she hopes every student leaves her classroom with a love for school and a lifelong love of learning.<\/p>\n
