AND IT IS REALLY SHAPING UP TO BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY, ESPECIALLY AS MANY PEOPLE ARE HEADING THE ROADS TO GET OUT OF FLORIDA. SOUNDS WEIRD. I DON’T KNOW WHY YOU’D WANT TO DO THAT, BUT IT’S GOING TO BE NICE UNTIL YOU LEAST GET TO THE BORDER. YEAH, I MEAN, YOU GET A LITTLE FURTHER, BUT LIKE IT’S SNOWING IN NEW YORK. OKAY, SO ALL THE PEOPLE THERE DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS. OKAY. I’M DREAMING OF SUNSHINE AND WARM TEMPERATURES, BUT, HEY, THAT’S ALSO WHY WE LIVE HERE. THAT’S A BEAUTIFUL SHOT FROM A WEATHER CAMERA IN DOWNTOWN ORLANDO. IT’S JUST GORGEOUS. WE’RE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, THOUGH. WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT. SO HALLOWEEN’S HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 69 DEGREES. THANKSGIVING WAS 75. WE’RE GETTING WARMER AND WARMER. CHRISTMAS HIGH TEMPERATURE 79 WILL BE WARMER THAN HALLOWEEN AND THANKSGIVING, BUT AT LEAST THERE’S A LOT OF SUNSHINE. IT IS GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL ONE. VERY SIMILAR ON CHRISTMAS TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY. WE’LL START OFF NICE AND COOL. WE’LL WARM THROUGH THE DAY. PLAYING OUTSIDE WITH THE NEW GIFTS WILL BE GORGEOUS SUNSHINE AND READINGS AROUND 79. THEN MONDAY INTO TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK, A BIG COLD FRONT SNEAKS THROUGH AND USHERS IN A REAL CHILL. AND WHEN WE TALK ABOUT A REAL CHILL FROM SUNDAY’S HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 DEGREES TO TUESDAY’S HIGH OF 58, THINGS ARE DROPPING 22 DEGREES. THAT’S GOING TO BE NOTICEABLE. JUST TO PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE, LET’S LOOK AHEAD. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE COLDEST MORNING. THESE ARE AIR TEMPERATURES. THIS IS THE AMERICAN GFS MODEL ON DECEMBER 31ST. SO THIS IS NEW YEAR’S EVE 41 IN ORLANDO, 34 IN THE VILLAGES COULD GET DOWN TO AROUND FREEZING HERE IN MARION COUNTY. I THINK THAT THERE’S PROBABLY GOING TO BE A LOT OF WIND. SO AT THE MOMENT WE’RE NOT REALLY LOOKING AT A SIGNIFICANT FROST, BUT THAT’S SOMETHING WE HAVE TO WATCH. EVEN ALONG THE BEACH, SIDE SPOTS WILL BE INTO THE LOWER 40S. THEN THROUGH THE DAY ON NEW YEAR’S EVE, HIGH TEMPERATURES STRUGGLING IN THE 50S. AND MORE SPECIFICALLY, I WANT TO STOP AT 11 P.M. ON NEW YEAR’S EVE. THIS IS GOING TO BE WHEN EVERYBODY’S DOING THEIR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, CELEBRATING THE NEW YEAR. WE’LL BE BACK INTO THE 40S, SO IT’S GOING TO BE A CHILLY RAINING IN THE NEW YEAR. WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THAT? SO WHAT THAT MEANS IS THAT WE NEED TO ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE NOW, WHICH IS WARMTH, BECAUSE THE PATTERN COMPLETELY TOPPLES OVER FOR NEXT WEEK. UPPER 70S INTO THE LOWER 80S ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. AND IT’S JUST GORGEOUS SUNSHINE RIGHT NOW IN TAVARES MID 70S. GORGEOUS CLEAR SKIES, PORT CANAVERAL, SAME THING. DAYTONA BEACH. WE’RE SITTING AT 75 DEGREES. WE’LL BRING THOSE TEMPERATURES UP IN SOME PLACES. WE’VE ALREADY HIT THE HIGH IN OTHER PLACES. UPPER 70S FOR MOST OF US THIS AFTERNOON, MUCH LESS WIND THAN WHAT WE SAW YESTERDAY. AND FOR THE EVENING. TEMPERATURES LITTLE BY LITTLE WILL DROP OFF INTO THE 60S, AND BY THE TIME WE WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, IT’S THE 50S TO ABOUT 60 DEGREES, I THINK ABOUT TWO THREE DEGREES COOLER TONIGHT JUST BECAUSE THE WINDS ARE GOING TO GO CALM AROUND THE AREA. SO HERE WE ARE ON CENTRAL FLORIDA’S CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE SEVEN DAY FORECAST, SHOWING THIS PATTERN STUCK IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, WARMING TEMPERATURES. BUT DO NOTICE THAT RISE IN RAIN CHANCE ON MONDAY. THAT’S THE NEXT FRONT BRINGING IN T

New Year’s Eve chill: Expect a cooldown in Central Florida as we head into 2026

   Updated: 2:54 PM EST Dec 23, 2025

  Editorial Standards ⓘ

Temperatures across Central Florida are expected to drop as we welcome a new year.
