{"id":94736,"date":"2025-12-24T11:43:42","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T11:43:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/94736\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T11:43:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T11:43:42","slug":"i-95-back-open-after-deadly-crash-in-brevard-county-orlando-sentinel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/94736\/","title":{"rendered":"I-95 back open after deadly crash in Brevard County \u2013 Orlando Sentinel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A deadly crash in Brevard County shut down Interstate 95 in both directions for part of Monday morning with northbound lanes only reopening after six hours.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at about 9:04 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 228 in Mims.<\/p>\n<p>It involved a 2007 tractor trailer driving north in the outside lane that struck a CMTI truck that was parked in the outside lane with its arrow board and lights activated to warn approaching drivers of a vehicle fire incident ahead.<\/p>\n<p>FHP stated the semi driver failed to slow or move over for the CMTI truck and struck its rear causing both vehicles to collide with the outside shoulder guardrail.<\/p>\n<p>The male adult driver of the CMTI truck was pronounced dead at the scene while a 42-year-old St. Cloud man who was a passenger in the truck was airlifted to Lake Monroe Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The tractor trailer driver, a 63-year-old Orlando man, remained on the scene without injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The accident scene and responding vehicles created a roadblock for both southbound and northbound lanes.
