To the editor:<\/p>\n
Pine Island Fellow Islanders Sending Help (FISH) would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the islanders whose generosity made it possible for us to serve 99 families by providing Christmas presents to 230 children.<\/p>\n
We are especially grateful to Pine Island Fire Station #1 for serving as our collection point and to Pine Island United Methodist Church for hosting the distribution. We also sincerely thank the following organizations for hosting Christmas trees with ornaments, allowing their members to select and provide gifts: Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church; Pine Island Community Church; Fishers of Men Lutheran Church; St. John\u2019s Episcopal Church; Pine Island United Methodist Church; Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge #2781; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4353; American Legion Post #136; Pine Island Moose Lodge; and the Pine Island Fire Department. Additionally, the FISH volunteers who assisted in every stage of the process are so appreciated and we acknowledge that none of this is possible without them.<\/p>\n
FISH is an all-volunteer organization that provides transportation assistance, financial support, mobility equipment loans, and organizes both the Christmas and Back-to-School Basket Brigades. We are deeply thankful for the continued support that allows us to serve our community.
