The Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> will be without cornerback Jourdan Lewis for the remainder of the season, according to Tom Pelissero.<\/p>\n

Lewis will be undergoing foot surgery. He sustained the injury in the Jaguars<\/a> Week 16 win over Denver.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars signed Lewis this past offseason to a three-year, $30 million deal.<\/p>\n

This season, Lewis has held opponents to just 7.6 yards per catch while recording two interceptions and four pass breakups.<\/p>\n

Lewis\u2019 absence will be a big loss for the Jaguars on and off the field. Beyond his production at cornerback and the high-level communicator he is pre-snap to get the secondary aligned, Lewis quickly emerged as one of the leaders of this team.<\/p>\n

Without Lewis, Jarrian Jones will likely take over the starting nickel responsibilities, while Greg Newsome and Montaric Brown start on the outside.<\/p>\n

With an open roster spot, the Jaguars announced that they signed cornerback Keith Taylor, with Lewis on injured reserve.<\/p>\n
