A Canadian man died after rescuers found him floating face down Friday amid a rip current in Volusia County.<\/p>\n
The 44-year-old man from Quebec was located about 150-200 yards from shore at 12:19 p.m., according to a statement from Volusia County Beach Safety.<\/p>\n
Lifeguards brought him to shore breathless and without a pulse. They immediately initiated lifesaving efforts, the statement said.<\/p>\n
The man was transferred to Ormond Beach Fire, then Volusia County EMS for emergency transport, but he was pronounced dead after arriving to an area hospital.<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service in Melbourne has warned of a high risk of dangerous rip currents at all Central Florida beaches since earlier this week.<\/p>\n
