MIAMI \u2014 A Miami man is facing multiple criminal charges for a bizarre burglary over the weekend in the city\u2019s Flagami neighborhood, according to police.<\/p>\n
Investigators said it happened just before 4 a.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report, the victim called police to his apartment in the 4200 block of Northwest 11th Street and told officers that he had gone to bed after accompanying his friends to the parking lot and forgot whether he had locked the door. <\/p>\n
Police said the man told them he \u201cwoke up\u201d to a suspect, later identified as Maykel Rodriguez Jr., \u201con top of me and touching my penis over my clothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
The report states that the victim told officers that Rodriguez, 34, then \u201cproceeded to expose his penis and urinate on me before leaving the room.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the report, the victim told officers that as Rodriguez grabbed his clothes and left, he told the victim, \u201cI know you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities said the victim was able to provide a description of Rodriguez and officers were able to locate him at Northwest 43rd Avenue and 11th Street. According to the report, Rodriguez lives a few blocks away from the victim\u2019s apartment.<\/p>\n
They said the victim was able to \u201cpositively identify\u201d Rodriguez and the latter \u201crefused to speak or answer any questions\u201d before officers arrested him on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, battery and indecent exposure.<\/p>\n
In court on Monday morning, Rodriguez\u2019s attorney, Peter Heller, asked for his client, who he said served in the U.S. Air Force for five years, to be given a bond.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors asked for a pre-trial detention motion without bond pending a hearing. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe facts are pretty egregious,\u201d prosecutor Nessa Eth said. \u201cHe\u2019s breaking into someone\u2019s room at four in the morning, molesting him, urinating on him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Finding probable cause for an upgraded charge of burglary with assault or battery, Judge Mindy Glazer said, \u201cThere may be more to the story,\u201d but granted prosecutors\u2019 request. <\/p>\n
If found guilty of burglary with assault or battery, Rodriguez could get a life sentence, Glazer said.<\/p>\n
Glazer said Rodriguez is scheduled to appear before Miami-Dade Judge Tanya Brinkley for a hearing on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
