Shoes for a Cure is making a splash in Miami Design District this weekend to raise money for breast cancer research.<\/p>\n
More than 20 brands, including Tom Ford, Valentino and Ferragamo, are hosting retail activations through Oct. 19 for key clients and donors. A percentage of sales will benefit the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami health system.<\/p>\n

The effort kicked off with a festive dinner at Mother Wolf restaurant on Thursday, in collaboration with Chef Evan Funke. The night featured a silent auction with one-of-a-kind pieces and experiences.<\/p>\n

Miami Design District is proud to stand with Sylvester, FFCF, and the many visionary brands who are using their platforms to make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n Miami marks Shoes for a Cure\u2019s first stop this month. Next week, the initiative will continue in New York with a five-day charity shoe sale<\/a> at Chelsea Market, which is taking place for the third year in a row. A kickoff event for key donors and supporters is set for Tuesday at Saks Fifth Avenue.<\/p>\n Shoes for a Cure, formerly Shoes on Sale, was launched by Jerome and Jodi Fisher in 1994 as a charity shoe sale in Central Park.
