Gov. Kathy Hochul delivered her annual State of the State address in Albany on Tuesday afternoon.

During the address, she pleaded to work with state lawmakers to advance her agenda, including universal child care, pushing back on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, making it easier to build more housing and more.

Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss her thoughts on the governor’s speech.

“I think everybody is looking at ways to make life more affordable for New Yorkers. And so many of us, obviously, are faced with rising rates of insurance — and car insurance is one of those insurances. So we’re gonna take a look and see what the governor is proposing and see what we can actually do that could be helpful in this affordability crisis,” she said. “As I usually say, ‘Everything is on the table.’ And obviously with the State of the State, it’s [all] broad strokes. You know, we always gotta look at the details, and we’re looking forward to doing that.”
