Plenty of people across New York State are waking up to snow on their lawn, in the streets, and still coming from the sky.

Two major cold fronts whipped across New York yesterday and brought bitterly cold temperatures and snow to the “Empire” State.

Snow Totals In Western New York

Some spots in Western New York are waking up to a couple of inches of snow, while others have just a dusting. The lake effect snow machine is expected to fire on all cycliners today, with up to 8 or 9 inches of snow possible by the end of the day. A winter weather advisory is in place until later this afternoon.

Snoe Totals In Central And Northern New York

Areas along Lake Ontario are expecting plenty of snow today and through the weekend. It is good news for snowmobilers in the Tug Hill area, not so great for commuters around the region. Winds and snow could cause white-out conditions along with bitterly cold temperatures.

Snow Totals New York City

Much of downstate was spared heavy snow totals, with more rain than snow falling yesterday. It is still very cold as temperatures will fall several degrees from Tuesday to today.
