NEW YORK — An investigation is underway following an armed robbery at a Pokémon shop in New York City Wednesday night.

NYPD officials say officers responded to a 911 call for three men wearing masks robbing the Poké Court at 412 W. 13th St. in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.

An employee told our sister station WABC that over $100,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the store.

They said the three suspects, who were wearing anime backpacks, kept everyone in the store while the robbery occurred, and were armed with a gun and hammers.

The store was packed with more than 40 customers for its first-ever community event when the robbers stormed in.

The employee said the robbery lasted about three minutes.

The store opened last November and sells Pokémon cards, card accessories, Pokémon-inspired lifestyle goods, and curated artist creations.
