STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Sanaya Frederick scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half, including eight points in the fourth as Curtis won a pivotal PSAL 4A Staten Island division contest with a 54-36 win over Susan Wagner on Wednesday.
“She came off the bench and gave the team a spark of energy starting on the defensive end,” said Warrior head coach Talia Sutton of Frederick.
The win lifted the Warriors into second place in the standings with a 9-3 mark, while the Falcons fells to 8-3.
Curtis led 24-20 at the half before extending the lead to 39-30 after three.
Kat Koronous had a big second half as well, scoring nine of her 15 points in the third quarter.
Also, Janiya Thomas finished with 12 point and nine rebounds.
“She played both ends on the court with her typical toughness and high energy,” said Sutton, whose team played a man-to-man defense the whole game.
Curtis plays Saturday in the Rose Classic versus Digital Pioneers Academy of Maryland.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Tigers turned in a complete performance, with contributions coming from up and down the lineup as they improved to 10-2 overall with the ACIS win on Wednesday.
Adrianna Savary led the way with 21 points, while Valentina Li added 19. Rita Moschella finished with 13 points, and Alyssa Lopez chipped in 10.
Margaret Moschella played a key role on both ends of the floor, tallying 10 steals and six assists.
In her first varsity start, Samantha Swenson paced the Tigers with 10 rebounds and adding six points. Carly Factor (six) and Greta Meleleo (eight) rounded out the scoring/

NEW YORK, N.Y. — On Monday, Alyssa Lopez recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists while adding eight steals and controlling the tempo throughout the game as the Island club won the league matchup.
Li led all scorers with 23 points, while Savary also delivered a strong showing with 15 points.
Margaret Moschella and Rita Moschella rounded out the scoring, combining for 18 points to help secure the win.
