An 86-year-old Western New York woman died Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle, according to the West Seneca Police Department.
Officers responded to Center Road, east of Dutchess Drive, at approximately 5:04 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel found the woman with critical injuries and attempted lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 37-year-old West Seneca man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.
Police have not released the victim’s name pending family notification. She was also from West Seneca.
Center Road was temporarily closed while the West Seneca Police Department Accident Investigation Unit conducted an on-scene investigation. The unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
