The state Senate’s Internet and Technology Committee held a hearing Thursday, examining the potential “risks and solutions” of using artificial intelligence in areas such as hiring, health care and financial services.

It comes as some local and congressional lawmakers look to boost regulations on the rapidly-evolving technology.

State Sen. Kristen Gonzalez, who is the lead sponsor of the New York AI Act and also serves as chair of the state Senate’s Internet and Technology Committee, joined NY1’s Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss more.

Her district spans Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan, including all or parts of Astoria, Long Island City, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Stuyvesant Town, Kips Bay and Murray Hill.
