Two Port Washington teenage girls remain missing since they were last seen boarding a Long Island Rail Road train together, according to authorities.
Police believe that Elize Avazis, 16, and Ana Sophia Birbiglia, 15, may be traveling together and may be headed to or already in New York City, with the possibility they could continue on to New Jersey.
Avazis is described as white, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and dark leggings.
Cops describe Birbiglia as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds, with shoulder length blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants, cops said.
Avazis has previously been reported missing, having disappeared briefly just before the start of the school year this past fall before being located safely.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either girl is urged to contact the Nassau County Police Department or call 911.
