The incident occurred on a Wednesday night, as confirmed by NYPD officials. Officers responded promptly to a 911 call describing the robbery, during which the suspects brandished a gun and hammers. Notably, the robbery transpired in just three minutes, while staff and customers were held inside the store.
At the time, the shop was hosting its first community event, with over 40 patrons present. An employee reported that the suspects were identifiable by their anime backpacks.
