Several people were hurt after a fire broke out in Queens early Saturday morning, the FDNY said.
It happened on Flushing Avenue near Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood just after 4 a.m.
The FDNY said flames spread through all three stories of the building, which has a tire repair shop on the ground floor.
The burning tires made it difficult to put the fire out, officials said.
Five people were hurt, along with four firefighters — all of whom sustained minor injuries, according to the FDNY.
The Red Cross says it registered eight households — 19 adults and six children — for emergency assistance.
The scene was declared under control after more than 3 hours.
