FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Manhattan Jaspers women’s basketball team (4-13, 4-4 MAAC), despite 17 points from Brianna Davis, fell to the Stags of Fairfield (14-3, 8-0 MAAC) by a final score of 76-54 inside Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hana Mühl scored the first basket of the game after a steal from Elisa Solé Sanchez.
Kristina Juric and another score from Mühl kept the Jaspers within one, trailing slightly midway through the opening frame.
Solé Sanchez and Brianna Davis joined the scoreboard before the first quarter horn, as Manhattan trailed by double digits after the first 10 minutes.
The visitors opened the second quarter with 10 unanswered points, with Colette Mulderig netting the first score and Juric contributing with four points herself.
Davis’ layup with two minutes and change in the frame put the Jaspers back within five.
Fairfield ended the quarter with five straight points of their own, going into the locker room with a double digit lead once again.
The Stags came out of the break firing, giving up the first basket but then ripping off seven straight points.
Solé Sanchez connected on a three point shot to get the Jaspers back into it, shortly followed by Mühl’s and-one cutting the deficit back to single digits just before the quarter came to a close.
Agar Farrés Garcia scored for the first time shortly into the fourth, with the game showing a 13 point Stag lead at that point.
Tatianna Collins knocked down the final Jasper basket, also her first points of the day.
STATS AND NOTES
Senior guard Brianna Davis led the team in scoring with 17 points, shooting five-for-ten from the field and six-for-eight from the free throw stripe. The Bronx, N.Y. native also tacked on four rebounds and two steals.
Senior guard Hana Mühl followed behind with 12 points, knocking down her only three point attempt and contributing two steals herself.
Redshirt Sophomore forward Kristina Juric was the third Jasper to score in double figures, recording 10 along with three rebounds.
Graduate guard Elisa Solé Sanchez had both the most assists (four) and steals (three) amongst the squad.
Manhattan shot at its best rate in the third quarter, with a 63% clip.

Manhattan will continue its 2025-26 campaign on Monday, January 19 when the Jaspers return home to take on the Broncs from Rider. Action is scheduled to take place from Draddy Gymnasium starting at 7 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN+ with a paid subscription.
