STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two people were injured after their vehicles careened off a snow-covered Arthur Kill Road on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Arthur Kill Road, near Kreischer Street, according to the NYPD’s Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information.

The Advance/SILive.com arrived at the scene to find that two vehicles had slid off the icy road into a nearby wooded area.

The driver of the first car to slide off the road told the Advance/SILive.com that her and her husband were uninjured when police and EMS arrived.

While waiting for a tow truck, another vehicle slid off Arthur Kill Road, striking her husband, who was standing alongside their vehicle, she alleged.

“All of a sudden, the other car came and hit him. It’s like a movie. I can’t imagine that it’s like a movie. My husband is now under the car,” the driver said.

Two passengers, one from each vehicle, were seen being transported from the scene by ambulances, though DCPI could not confirm the nature or severity of the injuries at the time of publication.
