The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:51 p.m. on Saturday for black ice until Sunday at 4 a.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties.
“Roads remain wet from earlier precipitation, and with light winds and temperatures falling into the 20s and lower 30s, areas of black ice may develop. Motorists and pedestrians should use extra caution. Reduce speed, allow extra time, and be prepared for slippery travel,” states the weather service.
