Woman, 50, found dead in Bronx building with injuries to head and body

A woman was found dead, with trauma to her head and body, inside a Bronx apartment building Saturday morning, police said.

Cops responded around 9:39 a.m. to a 911 call for an unconscious woman inside 38 Featherbed Lane in Morris Heights. The woman — identified as Susan Longton, 50, a building resident — was found unresponsive, with signs of physical injury.

EMS responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.

The city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. There are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
