HANNACROIX, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension Ulster County, in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension Columbia and Greene Counties and the Taste NY Store at the Capital Region Welcome Center, will host How to Become a Taste NY Vendor: Secrets to Success on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Taste NY Store at the Capital Region Welcome Center (I-87 Northbound, between Exits 21B and 21A, Hannacroix, NY).

This free, in-person workshop will provide producers and small business owners with practical guidance on becoming a vendor at the Taste NY Store at the Capital Region Welcome Center. The session will cover the application process, store requirements, and strategies for product presentation and branding, offering a comprehensive overview of how to successfully introduce products into the Taste NY retail network. Taste NY is a statewide program launched by New York State to promote the state’s food and beverage industries. The initiative highlights local producers and connects them with consumers through a network of retail locations, events, and partnerships.

The event will feature a guided tour of the Taste NY Capital Region Welcome Center, insights from the store manager regarding vendor expectations, and success stories from current Taste NY vendors, including The Phoenicia Diner, See & Be Kitchen, and Vasilow’s Confectionery. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in an open discussion, ask questions, and connect with other New York producers.

The workshop is open to New York–based food producers, makers, and artisans seeking to expand their retail presence. Eligible categories include:
