MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man was slashed across the face by an unidentified attacker who made anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks on a subway train on Saturday night, according to police. 

The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. The victim was kissing his boyfriend aboard a moving No. 6 train when an unknown assailant shouted an anti-gay slur at him, police sources said.

A fight then ensued between the two parties.


3 men plead guilty to killing homeless man for ‘revenge’: DA

During the argument, the suspect struck the victim with an unknown sharp object, causing a laceration to the right side of the victim’s face, before exiting the train at the 23rd Street and Park Avenue station, police sources said. 

The victim got off the train at 14th Street Union Square. 

Police conducted a search but were unable to locate the suspect, according to sources. 

The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to recover, police said.
