Brooklyn State Sen. Kevin Parker expressed the need for increased electricity generation and upgraded transmission lines.

He described the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act as the most ambitious climate goal in the U.S.

Parker also addressed environmental justice, saying he’s focused on renewable energy sources and collaborating with local organizations.

He noted the challenges due to federal restrictions and stressed the importance of public education on energy conservation and efficiency.

Parker acknowledged New York’s progress, but also talked about the need for more federal support and local initiatives.
