QUEENS, NY — An MTA conductor was attacked on a New York City subway train in Queens over the weekend, police said.

The incident happened on a train as it pulled into the 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue station around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday.

According to police, the conductor had looked out a train window when an unidentified suspect came up and repeatedly punched him in the face.

The conductor was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the scene after the attack.

Additional information on the injured conductor have not been released yet.

No arrests have been made yet. A description of a possible suspect was not readily available.

An investigation remains ongoing.
