Brooklyn Beckham is making bombshell claims about his mother, Victoria Beckham.
The eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham shared a shocking, emotional message on Monday, Jan. 19, condemning what he claims to be his parents’ attempts to undermine his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
On his Instagram Stories, Brooklyn began by outlining what he describes as the intense expectations his parents put on him, particularly in maintaining the family’s public image. He claims that he and Nicola have “gone out of our way for years” to attend events that his parents considered important, but that David and Victoria did not reciprocate when he and Nicola asked them for a favor.
“The one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused,” Brooklyn, who lives in Los Angeles with Nicola, wrote.
Reps for David and Victoria did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Nicola has long been an advocate for dogs. In July 2024 — six months before the L.A. fires — Nicola and Brooklyn tragically experienced the sudden death of their dog Nala, who died hours after visiting a groomer.
Two weeks after Nala’s death, Nicola sued the groomer for animal abuse, and told PEOPLE in a statement that she vows to “work for changes and laws to help make sure no one else ever has to experience this heartbreak.”
Brooklyn’s bombshell claims about his parents come amid reports of a longstanding rift in the family. Throughout his six-slide message, Brooklyn accused David and Victoria of being chronically controlling, causing his wife Nicola undue distress ahead of their wedding, trying to sabotage their relationship and rejecting any of Brooklyn and Nicola’s attempts to reconcile.

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety,” Brooklyn wrote. “For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”
He added, “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
Over the past year, David and Victoria have maintained their support of Brooklyn amid the rumored tension in their relationship.
“The relationship is definitely not beyond repair,” an insider told PEOPLE last May. “They love and are always there for [Brooklyn]. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
Then, in January, a source with knowledge of the situation told PEOPLE earlier in January that “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward.”
“David loves his kids,” the insider said of Brooklyn and his younger siblings Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14. “They are his everything.”
