Billionaire John Catsimatidis and the New York Post editorial board both urged Sliwa to bow out and back Andrew Cuomo, but Sliwa says he trusts “the people” to decide.
2. NYPD: Multiple people injured in box truck crash in Manhattan
Surveillance video obtained by NY1 shows a Ryder box truck crashing into a parked van on Eighth Avenue Monday afternoon, injuring 10 people — eight pedestrians and two people in the truck.
One victim was pinned during the impact as debris scattered across the street. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as firefighters and EMTs rushed to help. Police say no criminality is suspected, and the truck was leased to a third-party business.
3. Several elected officials call on NYPD to arrest ICE agents acting unlawfully
Several New York officials are calling on the NYPD to arrest or charge immigration agents accused of abusing their authority.
