The New York Blood Center is in desperate need of donations because of a very low supply.
The Blood Center is currently in an emergency with under two days worth of blood supplies. Officials say in recent weeks, blood donations have dropped about 40 percent below what is needed to meet hospital demand. The New York Blood Center provides blood to numerous hospitals in the tri state area and is asking New Yorkers and New Jersey residents to donate. January is National Blood Donor Month.
