Soon it will be time to break out the winter gear, the snow shovel, and the winter boots, but when will we see the first real snowfall of Winter in Western New York?

Old Farmer’s Almanac Calling For November Snow In Western New York

The Old Farmer’s Almanac’s long-range forecast for the month of November is calling for snow in the 716. Historically the first measurable snow of the season is around November 8th.

This is close to when the Old Farmer’s Almanac is calling for snow this year. This year, the first measurable snow will be a little later than that, it will be coming the week of November 10th.

It looks like that snow will stick around for a week or so before we warm up after Thanksgiving heading into December.

Overall November looks to be around average for our temperature but slightly drier than normally.

This winter looks like it will be tamer than the past couple of years. NOAA released their winter weather predication for the 2025-26 season and with a La Nina expected we will be slightly warmer and wetter which hopefully means less Lake Effect snow and less chance of snow storms.

Of course there are plenty of people who would be upset about that because they like getting out and about in the snow.
