The New York Giants will formally introduce John Harbaugh as their head coach at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford on Tuesday afternoon.
“We are proud to name John Harbaugh as the next head coach of the New York Giants,” said team president John Mara. “Joe Schoen presented us an outstanding group of candidates, which allowed us to be deliberate and confident in this decision. Through numerous conversations, John consistently stood out for his conviction and vision for leading a winning organization, and we welcome him and his family to the Giants.”
On Monday, 24 hours in advance of his press conference, Harbaugh and his wife, Ingrid, arrived at team facilities for the first time as head coach. Understandably, there were smiles all around.
The couple was met by general manager Joe Schoen, who had headed up the head coaching search before recusing himself in the final days, as co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch, as well as Chris Mara, took over.
They cruised by the four Lombardi Trophies that adorn the lobby and proceeded to take a tour of the facilities.

Ultimately, the tour ended in Harbaugh’s brand-new office, where he will get to work repairing a once-proud franchise to its former glory.
“It starts with the players,” Harbaugh told Sports Illustrated. “I’m just fired up to coach these guys and get to work. It’s a great group, and I’m looking forward to building this team up.”
And so it begins.
