Rumble Boxing gym has closed

Rumble Boxing, which was founded in 2017 by Noah Nesman in Chelsea and expanded since then to more than a hundred gyms (it’s a franchise) has closed its Tribeca studio at 100 Barclay/142 West. I’ve heard that a new gym is coming to the space? More on that soon.

When Rumble opened here in 2019 they had a total of 12 locations in the country.

Nesman (that’s the Tribeca studio manager Anna Bernstein in the photo with him) was a Hofstra running back who graduated to become a bored accountant and, ADHD by his own admission, was looking for something to cure his restlessness. He was running in what sounds to me like some high-powered NYC social circles and connected with the three other founders over shared experiences and his obsession with boxing as a fitness regime.

The studio at 142 West Street (the commercial side of 100 Barclay) at the time was their biggest yet at 6000 square feet on the ground floor and basement. There is one studio that holds up to 60 people, plus locker rooms and a space for privates. (What got me about the old space is there was a diffuser in the locker rooms pushing out a custom scent. So every Rumble in the country smelled the same.)

More TK when I learn the new plans.
