STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Impractical Jokers” star Brian “Q” Quinn is taking a swing behind the scenes of one of the borough’s buzziest horror franchises.

On Jan. 14, Quinn revealed on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast that he and longtime “Impractical Jokers” collaborator Joe Imburgio have written the script for “Stream 2,” the sequel to the 2024 slasher “Stream,” which was produced by the Staten Island-based Fuzz on the Lens Productions.

“We just handed it in, me and Joe Imburgio, who is one of the writers on ‘[Impractical] Jokers’ and a very close friend of mine, we wrote the script for ‘Stream 2,’” Quinn said on the show. “I’m so excited.”

“Stream” marked another chapter in the growing Staten Island horror ecosystem tied to Fuzz on the Lens (the local team behind the wildly successful “Terrifier” franchise), and Quinn made it clear he’s been a fan of their work for a while. On the podcast, he praised the original film’s practical effects and appearance of genre heavyweights like Jeffrey Combs and Tony Todd.

According to Quinn, the sequel opportunity came together organically after the “Stream” premiere while grabbing post-screening drinks with director and producer Michael Leavy.

“We went out for drinks and we were just kicking around ideas,” Quinn said. “And Mike [Leavy] was like, “Do you guys want to take a shot at the script for ‘Stream 2’?” We were like, yeah.’”

The “Stream” franchise’s official social pages shared a clip from the podcast this week, writing in the caption that Quinn and Imburgio joining the sequel was “a perfect match for where we want to take this franchise,” adding that their comedy background is “a secret weapon” because “scares, like jokes, are all about beats.”

For Staten Islanders, the pairing feels especially exciting. Quinn, a Staten Island-raised former FDNY firefighter, has increasingly crossed paths with Fuzz on the Lens in recent years, including a cameo in the group’s 2025 ferry-set slasher “Screamboat.”

As for other local connections in “Stream 2,” Islanders will be pleased to know that familiar locations may appear in the sequel.

“We almost always film at least some portion of our productions on Staten Island so we don’t expect ‘Stream 2′ to be any different,” Fuzz’s Steven Della Salla told the Advance/SILive.com last June. “Staten Island is our home and the support we receive from our community has always been incredible. We will never forget that and even as our company continues to grow we will always keep our fans as involved as possible with all of our work.”
