NEW YORK (KCTV) – After more than a decade competing against each other for supremacy in the AFC, Andy Reid and John Harbaugh still remain close friends.
On Tuesday, a glimpse into that friendship was shared as Harbaugh was introduced to the media in New York for the first time. The new Giants head coach discussed what Reid told his former assistant (the pair worked together in Philadelphia) following his firing from Baltimore, where he spent 18 seasons in charge of the Ravens.
“Andy’s a man of few words,” Harbaugh said with a smile. “His four words to me were ‘change can be good.’ That’s what he said.”
Reid, like Harbaugh, was fired after more than a decade in Philadelphia leading the Eagles and immediately jumped to a new job in a different conference.

“He was excited,” Harbaugh said of Reid’s feelings for his old friend who made the move from the AFC North to the NFC East with the jump to the Giants. “He’s fired up for us.”
Harbaugh then joked with media members that he’s hoping to replicate Reid’s success in his second stop during his second stop as a head coach.
“How about we do this. We do that deal right now,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll sign up for that deal right now, what he did in Kansas City let’s do that.”
